If you’re stepping outside this morning, brace for a noticeable shift from yesterday.
⛅ Clouds are hanging around in most areas early, but don’t get too used to them—skies will clear by midday, bringing back the sunshine.
💨 Winds have finally calmed down. After yesterday’s gusty conditions, today’s breeze will be much lighter, only hitting 10-15 mph.
🌡 Temperatures have taken a nosedive. If you were sweating in the upper 70s on Saturday, today will feel completely different. Highs will struggle to get out of the 50s, and by tonight, we’re dropping below freezing.
🔥 Fire Danger Still High
Even with the cooler air and lighter winds, conditions are still extremely dry, creating a fire risk across the region.
- The state remains under a Fire Danger Statement today, meaning any small spark could lead to a dangerous situation.
If you were thinking of gathering around a cozy backyard fire tonight, now is not the time. The air is dry, and the risk is real.
🥶 Overnight Freeze Warning
Once the sun sets, temperatures will plummet. Expect widespread freezing conditions overnight, with lows dipping into the upper 20s and low 30s. If you have sensitive plants outside, bring them in or cover them up.
🐶 Pet owners—don’t forget about your furry friends! If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them.
🌤 Looking Ahead
The cooler weather sticks around for the start of the workweek, but a gradual warm-up is on the way. We’ll climb back into the 60s and 70s by midweek.
