A truck driver died Tuesday morning when his vehicle left the road and crashed in Cherokee County.
What Happened: The crash took place around 11:40 a.m. in the Free Home area. The truck went off the road, hit a power pole, and flipped over. The driver died at the scene.
What It Means For You: Highway 372 near Free Home Elementary is closed while police investigate. Expect delays if you travel through that area.
What We Don’t Know: Police are still working to figure out what caused the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
From The Source: “Shortly before noon today, our deputies responded to a single vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer. Preliminary indications are that the tractor trailer left the roadway and went down an embankment, causing the tractor-trailer to flip and killing the driver.
