SAVANNAH -- A 35-year-old scooter driver was seriously injured during a morning collision in Savannah.

SAVANNAH — A 35-year-old scooter driver was seriously injured during a morning collision in Savannah.

According to the Savannah Police Department, at about 8:20 a.m. a Honda Odyssey was traveling on Commercial Drive when the passenger side of her vehicle was struck by a scooter in the intersection at Hodgson Memorial Drive.

Police say according to a preliminary investigation, it appears that the driver of the scooter disregarded the traffic light, resulting in the crash. The scooter driver was thrown from the scooter and suffered serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
