The Georgia Department of Transportation will close one ramp lane on the I-75 southbound exit ramp to I-85 northbound in midtown Atlanta, Fulton County, this Friday night.
These closures are related to the safety improvements project in the area, including the placement of high-friction surface treatment on the ramps.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, one left lane will be closed on the ramp from I-75 southbound to I-85 northbound on Friday, Oct. 12 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.
These closures will help ensure safety of work crews and drivers in the area. This $1.025 million safety project will apply high-friction surface treatment to the project area, correct roadway drainage issues and upgrade roadway signage that slows traffic speeds to 20 mph.
Message boards will give drivers advance notice of the upcoming closures.
Motorists are reminded to expect delays and use alternate routes, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
