🔍 The Details: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Macon Bibb Fire Department were dispatched to a major accident site on I-475 North on today, after a construction vehicle overturned. The crash was reported at 12:13 p.m., following a collision involving a Kenworth Construction Vehicle.
The vehicle’s mounted drill was erroneously extended and struck the Zebulon Road overpass while the vehicle was traveling north. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, critically injuring the driver, a 39-year-old man, who was later pronounced dead at Atrium Navicent Health.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed pending family notification. Additionally, debris from the crash caused minor damage to three other vehicles on the overpass, though no other injuries were reported.
