The Gist: Herschel Walker, who is running for Senate against Raphael Warnock, has drawn jeers and jokes on social media for his recent comments on climate change. The comments don’t exactly line up with any existing theories on the subject.

For those of you who have heard rumblings and rumors about what Walker said but haven’t seen the actual statement, read on.

The Setting: Walker was speaking at a private gathering of Republican donors in Hall County.

The Quote: While speaking in front of a crowd of supporters, Walker had some thoughts on climate change. Here it is in text format, followed by a video so you can see and hear his thoughts for yourself.

Since we don’t control the air, our good air decided to float over to China’s bad air. So when China gets our good air, their bad air got to move. So it moves over to our good air space. Then – now we got we to clean that back up.

The Aftermath: Democrats are mocking Walker’s answer both for the rambling nature of the statement and for the inaccuracy of the statement. Republicans say Walker’s down home, folksy charm, is an advantage for him in November.
