The latest mock drafts give five former Bulldogs a chance to be a first-round selection.

No college football program in modern NFL Draft history has had five players selected in the first round in consecutive drafts.

Jalen Carter

According to sources, despite the news of his apparent involvement in the fatal January 15th crash in Athens, Jalen Carter is not expected to fall out of the top-10 to 15 range. He’s likely to fall out of the pre-combine hype of a top-5 pick, though his talents are far and away above those of the other defensive tackles available in this draft. He’s still coveted.

Broderick Jones

“Broderick Jones, when all is said and done, will have a strong argument for OT1 in this draft.” That was NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah when talking about the former Georgia Bulldog. He measured in bigger than expected at 6’5+, 310+, and run sub 5.0 seconds in the forty with 34 3/4’’ arms. He’s locked up first-round status.

Nolan Smith

Following Nolan Smith’s 4.39 in the 40-yard Dash and his 41.5″ vertical at the NFL Combine, he’s receiving plenty of first-round love, including as high as inside the Top-10 to the Atlanta Falcons in the latest Mock Draft from Todd McShay.

Darnell Washington

It wasn’t just Nolan Smith that set NFL Combine records and broke barriers this past week. Monsterous tight end Darnell Washington turned heads with a 4.64 forty-yard dash and his 4.08 short shuttle was the third fastest at the NFL Combine. He checked plenty of boxes athletically to go with first-round physicality on tape.

Kelee Ringo

Ringo has been an up-and-down evaluation for the better part of the draft season, with most mock drafts having him either near the bottom of the first round or at the top of the second round. Either way, it appears what will determine Ringo’s first-round status is what he shows in a pro-day setting moving forward as well as the demand for the cornerback position on draft night.
