News that coronavirus has spread to Georgia and two cases have been confirmed in Fulton County have raised concerns statewide.
Parents and students throughout the state area asking whether or not Georgia’s public schools are safe from the spread of the virus. In a tweet sent out this morning the Georgia Department of Education worked to calm the anxiety of parents and students.
According to the department, they are acting under advisement of the Georgia Department of Health. “Students who are not ill can safely attend schools. We are in regular contact with DPH and will immediately inform school districts if their recommendation changes,” the department said in the tweet.
As always, students who are sick are not advised to attend school, whether it is the flu or any other illness.
