The Gist: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident involving a bicyclist that occurred Thursday afternoon.

The Details: At 3:13 p.m. on Thursday, a call was made to the Macon-Bibb Emergency-911 Center regarding an unresponsive man in the 3300 block of Pio Nono Circle. Deputies arrived to find the man lying near a bicycle at the rear of a residence. Coroner Leon Jones pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Initial investigations suggest that the man was riding his bicycle downhill and fell from an embankment at the rear of the property. His identity has not been released as authorities are notifying the next of kin.
