Two and a half years after Mayor Andre Dickens promised to take on Atlanta’s food deserts, the city’s vision for a municipal grocery store is finally taking shape.

📍 Azalea Fresh Market is opening soon at Five Points—bringing:

  • Fresh produce and locally sourced meats + seafood
  • Bakery goods and grab-and-go meals
  • A Dope Coffee café kiosk (yes, your latte is covered)

The store is expected to:

  • Serve 5,500+ residents every month
  • Create 30 permanent jobs downtown
  • Help anchor Five Points’ ongoing revitalization

This is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the City of Atlanta, Invest Atlanta, Savi Provisions, SCAD, community groups, and local leaders—all pushing to make healthy food access a reality where it’s been missing.

No opening date has been set, but Atlanta residents and shoppers are eagerly awaiting the store’s debut.
