The enduring rivalry between the Beatles and the Rolling Stones will take center stage as tribute bands Abbey Road and Satisfaction perform a musical showdown on Thursday, March 6, at the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University.
Abbey Road, known for capturing the essence of the Beatles with authentic costumes and musicianship, will face Satisfaction, a tribute to the energy and style of Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones. The two-hour show features alternating sets from each band, culminating in a joint encore performance.
“Music fans never had a chance to see the Beatles and the Rolling Stones perform on the same marquee,” said Chris LeGrand, who portrays Mick Jagger in the show. “Now, music aficionados can watch this debate play out live on stage.”
The event is part of a 125-show international tour that has been running since 2011, with performances across the United States, Canada, and Australia. Each band covers iconic songs from their respective legends, with Satisfaction’s set list extending to Rolling Stones hits from the 1980s.
“There’s no question that the Beatles set the standard,” said Chris Overall, who plays Paul McCartney in Abbey Road.
Tickets range from $45 to $75 and are available at the Rialto Center Box Office, by phone at (404) 413-9849, or online at rialto.gsu.edu. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is suitable for all ages.
