LAWRENCEVILLE — The victims in a murder-suicide yesterday in Lawrenceville have been identified. Police say they were a mother and son.

Officers performed a welfare check on a residence on Highland Ridge Pte. in Lawrenceville yesterday and found the mother and son dead from gunshot wounds.

The victims in the case were identified as 83-year-old June Fiveash and 51-year-old Russell Fiveash.

“At this time, it appears as though Russell shot and killed June before killing himself. June was identified as Russell’s mother,” said Gwinnett County Police spokesman Collin Flynn. “A welfare check was originally called in by a hospice nurse that was scheduled to meet with June.”

Investigators are continuing to investigate this incident.
