A man and a woman were fatally shot early Wednesday morning in Augusta, and a 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting on Mystic Lane at 2:37 a.m.

The details: Upon arrival, deputies found the two adults with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead shortly after. Tony Horne was taken into custody at the scene and later charged with murder.

Next steps: Horne is currently being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details about the victims or circumstances surrounding the shooting have been released.
