A Stone Mountain woman has been indicted on murder charges after allegedly causing a crash that killed a 19-year-old while fleeing from police in Little Five Points.

🚔 The Charges: 24-year-old Faduma Mohamed faces multiple serious charges including Felony Murder and DUI after the April 14 crash that killed Cooper Schoenke. A DeKalb County Grand Jury handed down the indictment on Tuesday.

The charges include:

  • Felony Murder
  • Four counts of Homicide by Vehicle in the First Degree
  • Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer
  • Multiple DUI charges
  • Reckless Driving
  • Possession of Methamphetamine

🔍 What Happened: According to investigators, a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to pull Mohamed over for speeding and reckless driving on I-20 eastbound near Boulevard. Instead of stopping, Mohamed allegedly:

  • Exited onto Moreland Avenue
  • Led police on a nearly two-mile high-speed chase
  • Ran a red light at Moreland and Euclid Avenues
  • Crashed into Schoenke’s vehicle

⚖️ What’s Next: The case will be assigned to a Superior Court Judge and scheduled for arraignment. A trial date will be set after Mohamed is arraigned.
