Following what city officials are calling a ‘melee’ that lead to a shooting at Mary Frazier McLean Community Park, the city is cracking down on activities in the park after hours.
Existing ordinances close the parks in the city from dusk until dawn. Hazlehurst Mayor Bayne Stone announced that in light of the shooting, the police department will actively enforce those ordinances.
The incident happened early Sunday morning.
The Hazlehurst Police Department is thoroughly investigating the shooting and has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects responsible for the shooting.
