The Clarkston Police Department is warning Clarkston residents not to leave firearms in unlocked cars.

Last year, the department responded to numerous entering auto calls and after reviewing those incident reports, police discovered that 15 firearms have been stolen during those incidents.

Of these 15 stolen guns only one vehicle was forced entry.

The other fourteen guns were left in unlocked vehicles. Police say this should serve as a “friendly reminder” to never leave firearms in your vehicle, especially an unlocked vehicle.
