In the early hours of Thursday, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a suspect in connection with an armed carjacking on Anthony Road.
The carjacking, which occurred shortly after 2 a.m., involved a male victim who was approached by a masked man wielding a firearm. The suspect forced the victim out of his vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The vehicle was soon located on Napier Avenue, where deputies engaged in a brief pursuit before apprehending the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Christopher Dewayne Bonner of Macon.
Bonner was found in possession of the stolen vehicle and has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Theft by Taking Auto, and Felony Theft by Taking. He is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.
