ADAIRSVILLE — A high-speed chase involving a suspect and local law enforcement culminated in a crash and subsequent exchange of gunfire near the intersection of I-75 and Ga. 140 in Bartow County on Tuesday.
The incident began when the Adairsville Police Department initiated the pursuit, which later drew the assistance of the Georgia State Patrol. The chase ended dramatically when the suspect was involved in a crash.
Following the collision, an exchange of gunfire ensued between the suspect and the combined forces of local and state law enforcement.
The circumstances leading up to the pursuit and the identity of the suspect have not yet been disclosed.
