According to prosecutors, during a routine traffic stop, officers from the Georgia Tech Police Department discovered a handgun that had been modified with a conversion device, known as a Glock Switch, which can convert a semi-automatic firearm into a fully automatic machine gun.

During a routine traffic stop, officers from the Georgia Tech Police Department found a Glock Model 22 handgun in the possession of Floyd Barrow, 34, of Marietta, Georgia. The handgun had been modified using a Glock Switch, a conversion device that allows the firearm to fire automatically at a rate of 1,100 to 1,200 rounds per minute with a single trigger pull.
The investigation revealed that the gun had been discharged on at least two occasions in the San Francisco Bay area in 2021 and 2022, as determined by the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network.
