SAVANNAH -- Savannah Police Violent Crimes detectives made a quick arrest in the homicide of a 70-year-old woman on Thursday, July 18.

SAVANNAH — Savannah Police Violent Crimes detectives made a quick arrest in the homicide of a 70-year-old woman on Thursday, July 18.

At about 9 p.m., officers responded to a residence on E. 49th Street to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, they located Nancy Hunt deceased with apparent injuries that were not self-inflicted.

Sean Hunt, who is the victim’s son, was on scene when officers arrived. According to police, Hunt was brought in for questioning and later charged with murder.

He was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center without incident.

Detectives continue to investigate this incident.

Sean Hunt is 29 years old.
