The Paulding Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash at a Paulding County gas station July 3. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a driver intentionally plowed his white pickup truck into a gas station, striking several cars and gas pumps before shooting himself.
Paulding Deputies responded to Al’s Exxon in the Rose’s Store Community of Western Paulding County reference a multivehicle accident and a possible shooting just after 10 a.m. Sunday.
A white GMC Sierra crew cab truck was traveling southbound on GA 101 toward the Ga. 120/Ga. 101 intersection when sheriff’s officials say it appears as if the vehicle was purposefully driven off the roadway through the sign of Al’s Exxon which is located at 30 Highway 101 in North Dallas. Once the vehicle traveled through the sign, it struck multiple vehicles in the parking lot of the store, including the gas pumps.
When bystanders went to the truck to check on the status of the driver, sheriff’s officials say the man driving the truck brandished a handgun and according to witnesses, shot himself in the head.
