The caller, who happened to be Thompson’s neighbor, indicated that the suspect fled the scene.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division were called to the scene where they immediately went to work. Through the course of their investigation, investigators determined that the original incident occurred at Thompson’s residence. In an attempt to get away from the suspect, the victim went to his neighbor’s home and the neighbor ultimately called 911.
Although the investigation is still in its infancy, Detectives believe that the victim and the suspect engaged in some type of altercation prior to the victim being stabbed.
Detectives identified the suspect as 29-year-old Dylan “DJ” Hill.
Hill was arrested without incident. Detectives were able to arrest Hill on a traffic stop in the area of Hart Road and Ga. 61 South just before noon.
Hill was charged with Aggravated Assault and is being housed in the Paulding County Jail without bond.
Thompson is still being listed in critical condition at last check.
