MACON -- A 62-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault after a cutting incident in the stairwell of a Macon hotel.

MACON — A 62-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault after a cutting incident in the stairwell of a Macon hotel.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault that took place near the parking lot of the Macon Inn at 1044 Riverside Drive. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb County 911 Center at 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to witness statements, two men were having an altercation in a stairwell of the motel. During the altercation, one of the men produced an unknown sharp object and cut the other individual several times.

Sheriff’s Department officials say the man who was cut was transported to the hospital and is listed in critical, but stable condition.

After being interviewed by investigators, 62-year-old Henry Ozmond Hodge was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Hodge is being held, without bond, for the charge of Aggravated Assault.
