17-year-old charged in killing of 16-year-old in Macon

MACON -- Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators charged a 17-year-old boy in connection with the death of 16-year-old Davaun Patton.

MACON — Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators charged a 17-year-old boy in connection with the death of 16-year-old Davaun Patton.

The incident occurred on Friday night, near the parking lot of the Family Dollar, located on Rocky Creek Road.

Tyreon Tyrese Parks, of Macon, turned himself over to Investigators Monday afternoon at about 4:30 p.m. After being interviewed about the incident, he was taken into custody.

Parks was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and is currently being held without bond, for the charge of Murder.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office the shooting resulted from an altercation between multiple people Friday night. During the physical altercation a shot was fired, striking Patton in the abdomen.

He was transported to the Navicent Health Medical Center where he later died.
