This past weekend nine gymnasts from Sumter Gymnastics traveled to Tampa Florida to compete in the AAU National Championships as a part of Team Georgia. Over 1600 gymnasts from around the country travelled to Tampa for this competition. The nine gymnasts brought home over 30 medals between them including a National Champion.

A power surge that occurred early Tuesday caused a failure in an essential piece of Glynn County’s networking equipment. As a result, Glynn County offices are experiencing an outage in phone and email communications. This outage effects all Glynn County offices including, the Court System, the Detention Center, the Police Department, the Fire Departments, the Libraries, Recreation and Parks, Animal Control, Public Works and all offices in the W. Harold Pate building. The customer service phone line is also down as a result of this outage.

For the fifth consecutive year, Fulton County’s Ryan White program has received an increase in funding. The Health Resources and Services Administration of the Department of Health and Human Services awarded a funding increase to the County’s HIV programming and services agency. The 2018 grant award of $26,350,000 represents a 3 percent or approximately $800,000 increase over the 2017 award. The continuing growth in funding continues a trend of increases over the past five years with the 2018 award being 15 percent greater than the 2014 funding.
