Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of an 86-year-old man at his home in Cairo over the weekend.
On Sunday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked to assist the Cairo Police Department regarding the murder of 86-year-old Jimmy Lee Bryant at his MLK Jr. Drive residence in Cairo.
According to the GBI, agents and police interviewed witnesses at the scene and determined an ongoing domestic dispute that started earlier in the afternoon that eventually led to 31-year-old Derrick Clark of Donalsonville shooting Mr. Bryant in the yard of his residence, where he later died.
Clark was arrested in the Whigham area by Grady County Deputies shortly after the incident took place and transported to the Grady County Jail.
