Georgians react to crisis in Afghanistan

President Joe Biden addressed the nation Monday and defended his decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan despite the rapid takeover of the country by the Taliban.

In Georgia, residents were quick to share their opinions of Biden’s actions, the overall effort in Afghanistan and the Taliban’s swift advance back to power.

As someone who watched the events of 9/11 as they happened on live broadcast, and then had friends deployed to Afghanistan for the last almost 20 years, I’m sick and broken-hearted. Shame on this Administration. It didn’t have to be this way. #Afghanistan

Biden managed to save his own hide with the low-info set by conflating the good of withdrawing from Afghanistan with the bad of his strategy for doing so. At the same time, he managed to distance himself from feckless neocons. He used your low expectations.
