A Cobb County police officer stopped a shooting at a gas station early Thursday morning and arrested one person, but a second suspect remains on the run.

What Happened: An officer on patrol saw a shooting happen in the parking lot of the Marathon gas station at 6211 Mableton Parkway SW just before 1 a.m. The officer stepped in right away, but two armed suspects ran from the scene. The officer fired his weapon while chasing them, but no one was hurt.
Where Things Stand: Police arrested 18-year-old Jarion Howard and charged him with reckless conduct, obstruction, firing a gun near a public road, and tampering with evidence. The second suspect got away and police are still looking for him.
