Georgia may see storms late Friday night into early Saturday morning as a cold front pushes south through the state, according to the National Weather Service in Atlanta.

The threat level is low overall, but some areas could experience damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph. Timing is uncertain, with the best guess being after midnight Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday.

Potential Hazards

  • Damaging winds: localized gusts could reach 60 mph
  • Large hail: unlikely, but not completely ruled out
  • Tornadoes: very low chance

Residents are encouraged to secure loose outdoor items, keep phones charged in case of outages, and enable weather alerts before heading to bed Friday night.
