Georgia gas prices nudged up by just one cent heading into Labor Day weekend, bringing the state average to $2.90 per gallon for regular unleaded, according to AAA.
That small increase isn’t breaking wallets: it costs about $43.50 to fill a 15-gallon tank, nearly $4 cheaper than last year.
Why Prices May Drop Soon
“Summer gas prices held their ground, but with fall on the way, we anticipate drivers will see a welcome drop at the pumps,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA. Still, she warned hurricane season could shake things up if storms disrupt Gulf refineries.

Electric Drivers Stay Steady
For EV drivers, charging prices held steady at 36 cents per kilowatt-hour at public stations.
