• Arrival in New York: The suspect traveled to New York City on a Greyhound bus originating from Atlanta, arriving at the Port Authority Bus Terminal on Nov. 24.
• Accommodation: After arriving, the suspect checked into the HI New York City hostel on the Upper West Side.
• The Shooting: On Dec. 4, at around 6:45 a.m., Brian Thompson was shot multiple times near the New York Hilton Midtown hotel. The assailant approached from behind, fired several shots, and is believed to have fled on an electric Citi Bike into Central Park.
• Evidence Found: Investigators discovered bullet casings at the scene engraved with the words “deny,” “defend,” and “depose,” suggesting a possible motive linked to criticisms of the insurance industry.
• Suspect Description: The suspect is described as light-skinned, of average build, and was wearing a dark hoodie and backpack during the incident. Surveillance footage captured images of the suspect, which have been released to the public.
