The Details:

Emery Highway Lane Incident: On September 17, 2024, deputies responded to a stolen vehicle report and discovered a decomposing body at the dead end of Emery Highway Lane. The body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for identification and autopsy. Thornton was arrested in connection with this case on October 21.

Spring Street Shooting: On September 14, 2024, deputies were called to the Exxon gas station at 36 Spring Street, where 40-year-old Tavarus Hunter was found with a gunshot wound. Hunter was transported to a medical facility and initially survived the shooting. However, he succumbed to his injuries on September 23, 2024. Thornton was also linked to this incident and arrested on the same day as the Emery Highway Lane investigation.
