Meadowcreek High School’s RoboMustangs robotics team secured a significant victory at the Albany qualifier for the Peachtree District Championship in the FIRST National Robotics Competition.

This marks the team’s first win in seven years, following a five-year hiatus. The RoboMustangs, despite being the last team selected for an alliance, outperformed competitors to claim the title.

The 12-member team dedicated nearly 100 hours to designing and building their competition robot, demonstrating a strong commitment to creativity, cooperation, and engineering.

Robert White, a Meadowcreek High teacher and co-sponsor of the RoboMustangs, highlighted the team’s growth: “It has been a pleasure to watch them grow into independent, capable engineers.”

Sara Konecny, another teacher and club sponsor, emphasized the impact of such competitions on students. “It is important to show students that they can build robots, engineer the future, and achieve whatever they set their minds to,” Konecny said.
