A fatal accident claimed the life of a pedestrian late Friday night near the intersection of Rocky Creek Road and Thrasher Circle in Bibb County.
Cameron Rodriguez, a 44-year-old woman from New York, was struck by a Honda Accord while walking along Rocky Creek Road around 11 p.m. Witnesses reported that the driver, who was heading west, saw Rodriguez in the roadway and tried to avoid hitting her but was unable to do so.
Rodriguez was rushed to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance, but she succumbed to her injuries, according to Bibb County Coroner Ronnie Miley. The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the collision.
What’s Next: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the accident. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward and contact the Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
