The first confirmed case of coronavirus in Glascock County was confirmed yesterday by the Georgia Department of Public Health. Glascock was the only county in Georgia that had not seen a single case of COVID-19.

For weeks, Glascock and Taliaferro counties remained the only counties in the state with no coronavirus infections. Now both counties have one recorded case.

Why it Matters: Now all of Georgia’s 159 counties have confirmed cases of COVID-19, meaning the virus has officially spread statewide.

Statewide, there have been 32,016 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 5,901 hospitalizations and 1,391 ICU admissions. 1,357 people have died from coronavirus in Georgia.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, 227,477 tests have been processed in Georgia. About 14% of all tests have been positive for COVID-19.
