The state of Georgia now has over 10,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

The total number of confirmed cases is 10,204, with 2,089 people hospitalized from the virus. That means 20% of everyone who has tested positive for the virus has been hospitalized. As of this evening, 370 Georgians have died from COVID-19. Testing for coronavirus has picked up in the state, with 38,797 tests being processed to date.

Also tonight, Dougherty County has hit the 1,000 case mark with 1,001 confirmed cases. The county also has the highest number of deaths from coronavirus at 62. Fulton County has also been hit hard with the virus and has the most confirmed cases at 1,261. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, 42 people have died from the virus in Fulton County.

In Cobb County, 29 people have died and 608 cases have been confirmed, in Gwinnett County 17 people have died and 586 cases have been confirmed and in DeKalb County 12 people have died and 732 cases have been confirmed.

While the virus has proven to be more deadly in senior citizens, the majority of confirmed cases are found in people under the age of 60. Those 60 and over make up just 30% of the total number of cases.
