Police look for shooter in assault on a driver in Macon

MACON -- Authorities in Macon are searching for information about an unknown man who shot a motorist this morning on Smith Street.

MACON — Authorities in Macon are searching for information about an unknown man who shot a motorist this morning on Smith Street.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Aggravated Assault incident that was reported to have occurred in 700 block of Smith Street at 11:28 a.m.

According to the Sheriff’s office, it was reported that a 30-year-old male was in a Toyota Camry on Smith Street, when there was an altercation. During the altercation an unknown male subject shot the man in the right arm.

The victim was taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center and is listed in stable condition at this time. No one else was injured. There is no further information on the suspect.
