Gwinnett police identify suspects in slaying at I-85 and I-985

What Happened?: On Sunday evening, a little before 7:30 p.m., Maria and Juan were found dead by a passerby on the shoulder of I-85 at the I-985 split. No vehicles were located near their bodies, but gunshots were determined to be the cause of death.

The Gist: Two suspects have been identified in the tragic double homicide of Maria Rosaria Montes Dorantes, 23, and her younger brother, Juan Angel Montes, 16.

What Happened?: On Sunday evening, a little before 7:30 p.m., Maria and Juan were found dead by a passerby on the shoulder of I-85 at the I-985 split. No vehicles were located near their bodies, but gunshots were determined to be the cause of death.

Lead detectives have charged Manuel Lorenzo Sanchez, 41, with two counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes. Another suspect, Ricardo Lorenzo Montes, 24, faces charges of tampering with evidence.
