According to local media reports, the woman admitted that she repeatedly hit her son, Conner Perry, because she was upset about a dirty diaper. The child was vomiting and having trouble breathing shortly after the incident.

The mother, 23-year-old Trinity Pittman, initially told hospital officials the child had fallen off a trampoline, but doctors became suspicious due to the nature of the child’s injuries.

Conner Perry later died at the hospital.

Pittman has been charged with murder and child cruelty.
