In the early hours of Sunday, September 3, a fatal shooting occurred at 2430 Piedmont Rd NE in Atlanta. A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Randy King, born in 2001, and are urging the public to assist in locating him.
The Incident
Around 1:40 a.m., Atlanta police responded to a call regarding a person shot at the Piedmont Road address. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Homicide Detectives were called to the scene to conduct a preliminary investigation.
According to police, the victim had interrupted the suspect, later identified as Randy King, who was in the process of breaking into a vehicle. The interruption led to the fatal shooting.
Suspect Details
Randy King is believed to be driving a newer model Kia K500 with dark tinted windows. The tag information of the vehicle is currently unknown. Fugitive Investigators have labeled King as armed and dangerous.
