As the gaming world constantly evolves, certain classics remain timeless. A recent study by Solitaired has unveiled that Minecraft, the iconic block-building game, is the top choice among gamers in Georgia.

It’s not just Georgia that’s captivated by its charm; Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, and Kansas also rank it as their number one video game. In total, Minecraft claims the top spot in 15 states, making it the most popular video game in the U.S.

However, the landscape of gaming preferences is diverse across the nation. The Last of Us, a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game, is a close competitor, reigning supreme in seven states.

Some states have carved a niche with their unique gaming choices. Maine stands alone in its love for Harvest Moon, while North Carolina players are engrossed in the Lost Ark. Oklahoma, on the other hand, can’t get enough of the wild west tales from Red Dead Redemption 2.

While these long-standing favorites continue to dominate, 2023 has ushered in new contenders. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the breakout star of the year, closely followed by Diablo IV and Hogwarts Legacy.
