The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office’s Animal Enforcement division reports that an officer rescued a baby alligator at a business on Broadway this week.
According to Rebecca Galeazzo, the rescuing officer, the baby had been sent away by its mother.
“This is a good example of how the mother gator runs out the older babies to make room for new hatchlings. This guy is about two-years-old, and this means there are brand new babies nearby,” she said.
After receiving some medical attention for a prior wound, the young gator was released back into the wild unharmed.
See ya later.
