Tattnall County is grappling with extensive road closures as Tropical Storm Debby brings heavy rains and flooding to the area. Key highways and numerous local roads have become impassable due to rising waters and washouts. Residents and travelers are urged to exercise caution and stay updated on road conditions as the situation continues to develop.

The main arteries affected include Georgia Highway 23 and US Highway 301, which are closed at the Long-Tattnall line due to bridge closures. Additionally, flooding on US 301 at Ivy Durrence Road has resulted in the closure of all lanes in both directions. Highway 169 is also shut down from Tison to the Evans County line, further complicating travel in and out of the area.

A host of smaller roads have also succumbed to floodwaters, with many completely washed out. Among the most affected are Battle Creek near Highway 121, Attis Rogers, and Baker Road. The county’s emergency management is working diligently to monitor these closures and provide updates as conditions change.
