Starting September 15th, if you use Lord Road to cross Rocky Creek, you’ll need to find a new route. Laurens County announced the bridge will be completely closed for replacement work that’s expected to last about six months.

Here’s Your New Route

The county has mapped out a detour that’ll take you through:

  • Alice Brewer Road
  • Rebie Road
  • Ashley Road

What This Means for You

If Lord Road is part of your daily commute, school run, or regular errands, now’s the time to test out the detour route. Six months is a long stretch—we’re looking at the bridge reopening sometime around mid-March 2026 if everything stays on schedule.

Plan Ahead

With school in session and winter weather ahead, that detour could add significant time to your drive, especially during peak hours. Consider leaving earlier or exploring alternative routes beyond the official detour if you regularly use this crossing.

The closure begins Monday, September 15th.
