Motorists traveling on I-75 in Clayton and Fulton counties should prepare for weekend traffic delays as lane closures are set to begin for a resurfacing project. The project covers the stretch between the I-75/I-285 interchange in Clayton County and SR 54/University Avenue in Fulton County.
Starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 23, and continuing until 6 a.m. on Monday, alternating single lanes on I-75 will be closed. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) advises drivers to expect delays and exercise caution while navigating through the work zone.
This resurfacing effort aims to improve road conditions by eliminating potholes and cracks and extending the road’s lifespan. The $46 million project is scheduled for completion by summer 2025.
