Downtown Lawrenceville is getting a soft reset this week — not a festival, not a parade, but a film set, with the city itself drafted as background.

From Wednesday, September 24 through Saturday, September 27, the city says filming will move through the heart of downtown. Expect temporary closures: sidewalks, parking lots, alleyways.

Lawrenceville Police will be on site, tasked with keeping both the public and the crew safe while the work gets done.

What’s behind the cones and detours? A new Netflix project. Crews and big-name stars are in town shooting a romantic comedy called “Just Picture It,” starring Millie Bobby Brown.

For residents and businesses, it’s the small frictions that mark a big machine moving through. For the production, it’s the promise of a familiar American downtown that reads well on screen.

And when the cables are coiled and the closures lift, Lawrenceville goes back to being itself — until it appears on screen again briefly, as somewhere else entirely.
