We made it to another Friday, folks. Here’s what’s going on.
Yesterday’s News:
- Rudy Giuliani was in Georgia yesterday to talk to a state senate panel about voter fraud. Giuliani and his team urged the legislators to override the Nov. 3 vote and instead send a slate of electors to the Electoral College to vote for Donald Trump.
- In other election news — this time about the Jan. 5 runoff — Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is investigating a Florida attorney who encouraged people to move to Georgia just to vote in the runoff.
- A 57-year-old Hart County man was charged with sexual exploitation of children after a narcotics investigation revealed child pornography.
- Yesterday’s most read story was about an arrest that was made in the 2002 slaying of a family.
Today:
Expect more election related news today since the fallout from the Nov. 3 election in Georgia is ongoing and we have a high stakes senate runoff Jan. 5. Congratulations everyone, you’re getting campaign ads and mailers for Christmas.

Weather:
Looks like rain. Looks a lot like rain today. Morning temperatures are going to be about 51 degrees with a 50% chance of rain and afternoon temperatures will be 53 degrees with a 90% chance of rain.
Coronavirus Update:
The coronavirus picture in Georgia is looking bleak. Yesterday there were a total of 6,047 new positive tests. 1,628 of those were from rapid tests. There were 245 new hospitalizations and 53 deaths were reported from the virus yesterday. The state is averaging about 2,800 new coronavirus cases per day now.
Other News:
- Local restaurants are really struggling due to the pandemic and some are asking for help from local cities.
- There is a movement among conservatives urging Georgians to sit out the Jan. 5 elections.
- President Donald Trump will be in Valdosta tomorrow stumping for Georgia’s two senators. Not everyone in South Georgia is excited about the visit.
