A Mercer University student has died after collapsing during an intramural soccer game Monday night in Macon. The student, identified as Mason Sells, was a junior accounting major and active member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was transported to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance but was later pronounced dead.
What’s Happening: According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, Sells died from cardiac arrest. His father reported that Sells had been struck in the chest with a soccer ball shortly before his collapse.
