CUMMING -- A missing person case came to a tragic end Monday when a missing Cumming man's body was found in his crashed vehicle off of Ga. 400 in Forsyth County.

CUMMING — A missing person case came to a tragic end Monday when a missing Cumming man’s body was found in his crashed vehicle off of Ga. 400 in Forsyth County.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Dept., on Monday, Oct. 5, at about 3:30 p.m., a Detective Miller of the sheriff’s department located a 2012 Honda Civic that had crashed into a wooded area off the shoulder of Ga. 400 southbound near the Lake Lanier Bridge.

Detective Miller had previously put out a lookout on a missing 25-year-old named Daniel Edward Harp of Cumming. While investigating the missing person case using cellphone technology, she located the crashed vehicle driven by Harp, who was deceased at the scene.

According to the sheriff’s dept., Harp’s vehicle had traveled off the west shoulder of Ga. 400 and down an embankment into a wooded area. After striking several trees, the vehicle came to rest in the heavily wooded area.
