Brantley County residents are free to burn again after the county lifted both its burn restrictions and its Local State of Emergency on June 7.

What’s New: The county had been under a burn ban and a formal emergency declaration due to the massive wildfire. Both are now lifted.

What This Means for You: One rule still applies. If you plan to burn a pile larger than 6 feet by 6 feet, you must call the Brantley County Fire Department before you light it. The number is (912) 462-5256.

The Path Forward: The large-pile reporting requirement stays in place with no end date given.
